From: Chancellor Cynthia Barnhart Date: Thu, May 14, 2015 at 8:37 PM Subject: Help MIT better understand student mental health To: student_email@mit.edu Hello [Student First Name], In April, I asked for your help with an important survey: the Healthy Minds Study, which examines mental health and related issues as well as how students engage with support services on campus. As I indicated in that letter, we are eager to use the Healthy Minds data to evaluate and enhance our mental health, substance abuse and suicide prevention efforts, as part of MIT's membership in a four-year, data-driven assessment called the Jed and Clinton Health Matters Campus Program. We have had a great response so far, with candid and constructive input from students. With this final reminder, I ask you to lend your perspective to get a more representative picture of the MIT student population, so that we may improve services and programs. We hope that you will take 20 minutes to complete the confidential online survey. *To participate now, follow the link below:* [LINK TO SURVEY] To encourage a community-wide response, in addition to the $2,000 sweepstakes, we will increase the number of winners and the total incentive amount to $3,000 if at least 30% of the student body responds. We'll increase it to $5,000 if more than 40% respond. The survey will be *open through noon on Monday, May 18, 2015*. I hope you will take the time to participate in the study. By doing so you will be providing MIT valuable information that will improve student life. Thanks in advance for your participation!
